Over the next year, we will study literature, grammar, and writing. This class is designed to give you more support for your regular English class.
Objectives
In this class, you will:
* Learn the English grammatical structure and model it in your writing.
* Examine and put into practice different forms of writing.
* Prepare for testing required by the state (MCAS) and colleges (ACT/SAT).
Grading
How is your grade computed?
Tests, Essays, and Projects are worth 40% of your grade.
Quizzes are worth 25% of your grade.
Homework & classwork are worth 25% of your grade.
Participation is worth 10% of your grade.
Quizzes, Tests, Homework, Class Work, Essays, Projects, Participation It is the student’s responsibility to keep papers (and notes) for each unit. This is important because these notes will come in very handy for the final exam in June. All assignments are due the minute class starts, otherwise the assignment is late. Most late assignments will be accepted for partial credit. Essays will be due on a regular basis. Participation is very critical to your grade and understanding of concepts learned.

3. NNHS policy will be followed in this classroom. A combination of tardies and absences (both excused and unexcused) could and will lead to an N. Refer to your NNHS handbook for more specific information.

If any student chooses to interfere with my teaching or another student’s learning, I reserve the right to ask that student to leave my classroom (followed by an appropriate consequence).
